Graduates and Entry Level
Building skills is an essential part of building Australia’s shipbuilding capability. We have strong relationships with Australian Universities, and since 2013 the University of South Australia, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and the University of Tasmania through the Australian Maritime College, have supported the development of our workforce and shipbuilding programs.
Navantia Australia offers a range of internships to students from the University of Adelaide, University of South Australia, University of Tasmania and RMIT. Many of these students have gone on to work with Navantia in our Australian shipbuilding and support programs.
In the 2017 Internship Program, students undertake a 20-week placement in Garden Island, Sydney, to gain experience in support of Australian naval platforms. Interns are also engaged in Navantia Australia’s Adelaide facilities, where they gain experience working on Navantia’s shipbuilding programs.
It has been a wonderful, collaborative and highly valued relationship with Navantia. Our students have had an amazing start in the internships with their careers in a great organisation. Along with their graduate roles at Navantia – thank you.
