• Currently studying a Tertiary qualifications in Engineering – Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering
• Australian Citizenship holding or eligible for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance to a minimum of Baseline

Due to Navantia Australia’s ongoing success, we have an exciting opportunity for a Program Administrator to join the team out of its Garden Island, Sydney office. Operating under the Design Support Contractor (DSC) contract, the Program Administrator will be responsible for supporting the Program Manager and the Engineering Change Manager to provide program reporting and monitoring activities. The Program Administrator is a member of the Program Management Office (PMO) team that provides program controls, monitoring and reporting both internally and externally.
As the Program Administrator your responsibilities include:
- Prepare, maintain and monitor the program calendar.
- Gather, maintain and analyse data to demonstrate program compliance and status, based on Earned Value Measurement (EVM) principals.
- Provide support to the Performance Measurement Coordinator with the development and maintenance of project measurement data and indicators
- Provide support to Program Schedulers in the maintenance of the program schedule (MS Project).
- Development and delivery of external DSC Program Reporting in accordance with ASDEFCON requirements.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or 3-5 years equivalent experience in the program administration area.•
- Proven experience as a program coordinator, scheduler, project controller or similar role
- Demonstrated understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) principals and project scheduling.
- Strong data analysis skills in relation to project scheduling and progress tracking.
- Very strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.

As a Systems Safety Engineer, you will be working within the “Systems Safety” division of Navantia Australia and will be responsible to deliver systems safety for naval ships.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the system engineering activities relating to the DCE engineering program including process definition, coordination of team outputs, reviews and stakeholder engagement.
- Responsible for the development of system engineering documentation including inputs to engineering plans, requirements definition, VCRM and verification activities.
- Lead the safety engineering activities relating to the DCE engineering program including process definition, coordination of team outputs, reviews and stakeholder engagement.
- Responsible for the development of safety engineering documentation including inputs to engineering plans, Hazard Assessments, Safety Assessments and Defence safety activities.
- Monitor and control system and safety engineering deliverables against the program schedule and report to the DCE Project Manager.
- Follow State WHSE Acts, Regulations and accountability with leadership for the safety and wellbeing of staff and their commitment to protect the environment.
- Exercise due diligence by taking reasonable steps to acquire and keep up-to-date knowledge of work health and safety & Environmental matters and ensuring information regarding incidents, hazards and risks is received as soon as practicable and action is implemented in a timely way.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- Experience in an Systems Engineering and/or Safety Engineering role of not less than 8 years.
- At least 10 years’ experience in a Marine, Air or Land Engineering environment.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering requirements in a Marine environment.
- Knowledge of Safety Engineering requirements in a Marine environment including relevant specifications and standards.
- Experience in working in an engineering team environment.

As the Combat Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for working within the Combat Systems division to deliver technical investigations and support in the development of work orders for naval projects.
In this role, you will:
• Provide experience and broad technical knowledge of functional and detailed design related to Combat and Communication Systems on naval ships.
• Undertake technical investigations, root cause analysis and solution identification.
• Integrate combat and communication systems on naval vessels.
• Deliver technical reports and technical documentation in accordance with established Navantia and customer standards
• Perform detailed design, 3D model, for combat and communication systems
• Work effectively within the broader Navantia Engineering Team to engage with different engineering disciplines in the development of new naval ship system designs.
• Plan and coordinate assigned engineering projects from concept through to delivery, including the development of project plans, schedule and engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
• Plan and administrate design coordination meetings with engineering project stakeholders
• Plan and administrate Design Review meetings with the Client
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics or related discipline
• 3-5 years’ experience in Engineering preferably in a Defence environment
• Demonstrated understanding of combat and communication systems
• Knowledge of 2D CAD (AutoCAD/MicroStation) to produce design information
• Competent in the understanding of, and development of, engineering documentation and engineering drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients
• Australian Citizen holding or eligible for an AGSVA Defence Security Clearance to a minimum of NV1
