We specialise in project management, engineering services and through life support in the shipbuilding domain. Through our participation in the Hobart Class air warfare destroyer (AWD) project, Canberra Class landing helicopter dock (LHD) and LHD landing craft (LLC) projects, and the Supply Class auxiliary oiler replenishment (AOR) ships, Navantia Australia has developed significant engineering capability in Australia.

Graduates and Entry Level

Building skills is an essential part of building Australia’s shipbuilding and sustainment capability. We have strong relationships with Australian technical institutions such as the Welding Technology Institute of Australia and Australian Universities. We have formed a collaborative research institute with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) to develop sovereign innovative solutions in digital technologies as well as international relationships between Spanish and Australian universities.

Navantia Australia offers internships to Engineering and Naval Architecture students from Australian universities. Many of these students have gone on to work with Navantia in our Australian shipbuilding and sustainment support programs.

Our Internship Program is designed to expose you to unique learning opportunities, while contributing to real projects. Engineering and Naval Architecture students participating undertake a 20-week placement in our offices located at Garden Island, Sydney, and Docklands, Melbourne to gain experience in support of Australian naval platforms.
